Super fast and attentive service, despite being a busy Friday evening! Very cosy and tasteful space, since we dined downstairs in the pub/bar area. We got the Early Bird Special, which was a great deal considering the quality of the food! Had some haddock arancini with truffle mayo as starter, Grilled Sea Bass as main and Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert.

Good service when entering. Having a good bitter on tap was a plus. Sat outside, which was enjoyable. Steak & Ale pie was gorgeous. Pastry was flaky and lots of meat. The only downside was outside service was not that well attended. Waited 15 mins after i finished my meal until i had to go inside to ask for the check. I gave a tip but was disappointed that i could not direct it to the cooking staff who excelled and not the waiter/waitress staff who were not so good.

A Harrogate institution but on my last visit the table service was a bit confused, over eager to please but failing to see obvious oversights. I also found it odd to be served a main course with the gravy boat on the dinner plate surrounded by gravy. Food pretty good but not exceptional and an obviously mass-produced bought-in Christmas pudding was very disappointing.

A real gem of a place- the lamb was perfectly cooked and extremely fresh. Also came with a very nice tart mint sauce. Very generous portions but more importantly excellent quality. Will definitely be back on my next visit to Harrogate.
